now, steering away from the quite economical "organisation" thing that found me so briefly at the beginning of the year, i find myself ALMOST failing a lot of things at school. and lagging and lagging and lagging. (that's despite writing the most brilliant "medea" essay in the world, for which i got an A+.) BUT not all teachers like to read that sort of thing. i think only the lazy teachers like me, which is fine. "can't win 'em all!" that is, on all accounts!
in any case, i'm making a camera out of a potato so i'll show you pictures of that soon.
in the mean time though here are 3 recent pictures that i like.

this was with an ancient pinhole camera i found at school, probably from the 60s-70s. had to get the boys to stand still for a minute and a half. i like the way the image curves from the bent film. my spud cam will be based on this design.

this was just having fun with mult-exposures in the darkroom.

from yesterday riding to terang on the train. i've been enjoying train trips more and more lately. actually, i always have. i was alone in this carriage. it rained hard. now that i think about it, this picture fits in perfectly with the photography exploration that i've already handed in. oh well!

tomorrow i will develop pictures from a matchbox camera i made on the weekend. in the end, i only got 2 pictures out of it because of all the winding that was required to get the second reel working smoothly, and i'm not even sure those will work out. but that's technics and not many people would care i don't think!

Canon EOS 300D Digital SLR.

is now mine. it retails for around $1100 but i bought it on ebay for $625 with the kit lens and charger and crap. pretty exciting. quality pictures for you very soon.

the blur and crap was deliberate, but this was my first time using a darkroom, and a film SLR for that matter. i actually fucked it up completely by trying to be experimental with the aperture, so these were the only ones that turned out. i have another roll for this weekend, and this time i'm using a pentax which is more manual and nicer.

yeah, this idea has never been done before. it's for photography at school this year. escapism/abstraction bla bla. mainly i posted these because the quality is so damn good (i used my friends very very expensive camera with a very very impressive lense. it was quite touchy so some are out of focus.)

go camping. on a salt lake in a town called natimuk, and sleep in a cave on a mountain amidst other mountains called the black range. keep in mind that i had a beer in my hand whilst taking most of these. consequently i learned my lesson when i dropped my camera from a 2 metre high rock. it lived, but it's severely impaired. time for a new one i think.

it was my 16th birthday party last night. folks came over, and we got completely shitfaced. i mean, look at our faces, anyway i think i got drunk really fast and i fell over in my room and somehow landed in the hallway, and i have a scar to show for it, and when everyone was singing happy birthday i danced like a fucking hillbilly and when they were eating cake i was running around my lemmon tree, and i think i fell asleep under it, and i also danced to mandy moore for a while, but that's a secret, and someone showed up that looked like vivian from the young ones and that was really funny, and i have a couch in my room now, and adobe premiere fucking finally, and i went loony with the camera and i'm spent:
